removing the sway bar on a ZX

I didn't find it bad at all on the trail, just lean a bit more. Much better for carving and sidehills.

I found it was better in both cases as well, just crank up spring tension a click or two.

But break out the saw, makes removing the sway bar on a ZX nice and quick.

You don't need to cut or grind anything. Just drill out the 4 rivets on each side that hold it to the bulk head and remove the aluminum plate and plastic bushing from each side. The sway bar will slide out in one piece...this way if you don't like it you can just put it back in and rivet the bushings and plates back on. If you do like it off just make new plates to rivet on and cover the holes.

Good grief!

Like he said - drill out the rivits and it will slide out in no more time than cutting it!

Leaves a nice 1" hole (1-1/8?) that you can then scurry on up to the hdwr and fetch a cpl hole plugs to fill in. Generally chrome plated for $1 each?

Don't cut it out because if you're one of those guys who ends up hating the way it rides on the trails (And we all use trails to get to the fun) Like I was then you can put it back easy.

You will have to remove your suspension at the spindle on one side of your sled though to get it out.
Then just jack the sled way high and twist it out of the belly pan.

The worst part about the ride without it is on hard, set-up snow trying to hold a line accross a long sidehill.
Everyone in front of me would be sitting down comfortably while I was hanging off the uphill side something fierce. almost lost it down the hill when I'd hit an off camber bump along the way.

Go ahead and tell me to learn to ride folks. Flame away.
Been riding for over 18 years.

It's just personal preference.
It WILL act a lot better in the deep stuff without it but here in Wa. we don't get deep fluffy powder but for maybe twice to three times a year anyway.
It's usually pretty wet and heavy a couple hours after it falls.
We call it cascade concrete for a reason!
