removing paint

I finally got everything in! Put the 151 in and had a tunnell extension made up to fit. 40$ for that. Much cheaper than buying one. Next up is getting the tunnel bare to the aluminum then going to polish it. Does anyone know a good way to remove the paint from it? A sander would would in some places but not in all. Can it be sand blasted without damaging the aluminum?

try using some paint stripper and remove it with a small pressure washer.i would remove the seat and dont get it on any of the plastic. i bought mine from napa but i dont remember the brand.

stripper is your best bet. dont use a sander, and if you do, stay away from any rivits. Aviation/Airplane Stripper is the best, and any autobody supply will have it. It wont hurt rubber and plastic, just the paint thats on it. Do not leave it on for too long as you will end up having to strip the stripper. And wear gloves as it WILL remove skin. You will likely still have to sand somewhat before polishing. You can PM me if you like and i can give you details on that. The other route is if there is anyone in your area who does multi-media blasting and get them to plasti-blast it.
