Removing badges?

Any of you ever remove the badges from your truck?

I'm looking to remove just about all of them off of mine...

Just peel them off. Try not to scratch the paint. Then you can go to a local automotive paint supply store and buy an eraser wheel. The eraser wheel will go into your drill or airtool and erase the adhesive off. Easier and safer on the paint than using solvents.

heat gun is key. i took off all the old plastic/rubber molding on my 98 dodge and it came off pretty well. There was some residue left on the paint, but if you let that stuff cool and then roll it with your thumb most of it will come off. A good semi-abrasive buffing solution and a big buffer will do a pretty good job of cleaning up the rest of it adn make it look like it was never there.

heat gun and fishing line with a pair of gloves on or just get them hot enough that they'll peel off. (done this on like 6 trucks and never hurt the paint)

then goo-gone works good, takes some elbow grease though

never tried the eraser wheels as they are like $30 and the good gone is like $5 and i'm cheap

the side moldings were coming off my chevy so I peeled them the rest of the way off. goo gone works but I think goof off is slightly better. Both require effort to scrub adhesive off!!!

x2 take them as soon as poss. the faded paint would be a tale if you didn't

wait for a warm sunny day and use some fishing line - works great. If it's winter then you'll need that heat gun. After the badge comes off you'll have a bunch of adhesive to deal with - I used "goo-gone".

Like stated above, I used a heat gun and fishing line. Then I took the adhesive off with some "special" stuff I got from a friend who works in a body shop. Sorry I don't remember what its called. It worked awesome though....I had tried goo gone and 3M adhesive remover with little luck.

Like the others said but if you can get your hands on some spider wire or other spectra line works a lot better. just wear some leather gloves tho that stuff will cut you to the bone.

I think the key is . Got bored one night thought id rip all mine off, then used 3m adhesive remover... easy.

How about some install pics?

If you can't tell from the pics, its a Ranch Hand bumper. A few small issues with it (bad welds, jig wasn't centered), but other then that it'll do what I need it to do. Couldn't justify twice the price for a Buckstop...

Thanks for the pics of the bumper. I can't decide which one to go with. Right now I am leaning toward the Bodyguard bumper but the jury is still out.
