Relocating Handlebar Warmer Switches

I too am in the middle of doing a bunch of this work, I have a pro design tether .... Where do I splice wires in so when I remove hood my wires don't get ripped out? Secondly, I also want to keep my hi/low beams... Is there a relocation switch for that as well?

Thanks Ryan

Where to splice in depends where the tether is mounted. If one attaches the tether to the hood somewhere, splicing into the key switch wires would work well for hood removal. If the tether is mounted to the bars or an area that doesn't get removed with the hood, splicing into the harness behind the secondary would work well.

Tether will be on the bars, I just tried to splice into the two wires that plug into the three prong outlet.... Figured this was keyed power - I was wrong... Which harness and which wires do you splice into behind the secondary? My 2010 cat was so much simpler than this proclimb.

I go to the key wires on my sleds for the tethers... works perfect.

Key is on the hood that removes... Therefore if u wire to the key and have tether on bars u won't be able to take hood off - wont work on the proclimb... Need to know which wires to splice into by the secondary in order to get this to work

I've got a plug on mine I can pull off, but don't have to pull the hood very often. No biggie adding a plug you can disconnect. It was just easier that way for me.

Posted a picture in another thread showing the harness. Caveat - Haven't got my tether done yet so I'm not positive in the wire colors.

Tried to cut the blue wire and run one wire of the tether to each end of the blue wire that I cut... Didn't work - am I wiring this wrong?

Tried this with no luck - can you give me some more direction, which wire goes where from the tether, will the kill switch still work along with the tether?

Since it's normal open as long as you just run it with the kill, they'll both work and either can interrupt to kill the sled.

Thanks to saberkitty I got this done - you wire one to blue and one to purple piggy back style - not inline like the old cats... He sent me a pm with those instructions, key, kill and tether all work.

I just wanted to share what I finished doing to mine, maybe give some ideas.

It's pretty simple really all you need to do is extend a bunch of wires. I made a bracket to bolt by the speedo and stuff then screwed down the stock switches to an old chunk of handle bars.

The bracket I made didn't quite come out at the angle I was shooting for but oh well I guess, it works decently enough.
