Rekluse Core Exp Clutch

Just wondering who has put these on the MH? What are the benefits? IS there a better clutching setup out there? The engine braking while the clutch is engaged after rolling through the higher Rpms seems like it could be hard on the engine. Is there a setup that would eliminate this and make it roll more freely after you open it up?
thanks
Erik

I haven't tried the core, but have the original in all my off road bikes.
The 525 with the rekluse was fantastic on my 2moto.. allows for very easy unstucks. Im not sure why you would think they might be hard on the motor,
a stock clutch is locked up as well..

What i said was, I thought that revving the bike into the higher rpms and then letting off makes the engine brake if you don't pull in the clutch. I would like to set it up more like a sled where you have free roll after you let off the throttle instead of slowing down cause the clutch remains engaged, and the engin brakes. I know i could just pull in the clutch lever but Id rater just have it set up that way.

clutch

what clucth should I buy? I trail ride and hillclimb. Do i need the best one the trail or go in the middle. Thanks. I have only heard great things about these. I have never heard of it causing premature engine failure.

Read the post all the way through.

OK everybody listen to what Im saying. I didn't say the rekluse would hurt your engine. I said when you wrap your bike out all the way and let off with the stock clutch still engaged( not pulling in the lever) you will experience engine braking! Got it?! Will the rekluse free roll if you let off the throttle? or will it be like the stock clutch and make the engine brake? its a simple question, nothing was said about the clutches being hard on the engine, However it seems like if you get into 5th gear and wrap it out and let off, the engine braking seems like it is hard on the motor.

I believe when i had the aprilia with a recluse and it would free wheel like with a clutch pulled in. Hope that helps

Not sure about your thought process why this would be hard on the engine???

The Recluse will disengage just before Idle rpm that is how it keeps the motor

from staling out without you needing to use the clutch.

I don't think there is anything to worry about here at all.

The track will slow down faster than the engine anyway unless you are on

hard-pack downhill with a tailwind.

The recluse will stay engaged just like your stock clutch. As stated above it will disengage right above idle.

Ive never seen or heard of a rider that pulls in their clutch after winding a bike out, I dont see a reason to do such a thing..

So what? you just let the engine brake? If you go all the way through the rpms in any gear and let off (without pulling the clutch in afterwards) the bike slows down from the track spinning and the clutch still being engaged. Its called engine braking or downhill braking on some four stroke atvs( want me to explain that again?). I want the bike to coast more freely like on a sled. Whats so hard to understand about that? I was just asking a question about clutching options to get the bike to "free wheel" better. Obviously you didn't understand what I was asking.

"Ive never seen or heard of a rider that pulls in their clutch after winding a bike out, I dont see a reason to do such a thing."

yeah!! why use your clutch for anything! hahahah

What?> LMFAO!! So how do you ride your bike then? You just don't use the clutch? Why would you need to pull in your clutch after winding your bike out? Well hhhm. I dunno Maybe to Shift? Maybe to Coast further instead of letting the engaged clutch create engine braking and slow you back down? there is a list of reason why I use my clutch. I want to upgrade from stock to a better option. Back to the original question at hand. So if you don't have advice on clutching setups then why bother posting?

I just have to say this again.

"what are you riding a moped with a cvt clutch?"

Lol....Yeah I need a kit for my 110. Except id still have the same problem, running out of power in 5th gear and wanting it to coast more.

I can't Decide to go with a Hinson or a Rekluse, but I need to do something soon because I don't think the stock honda clutching is tough enough to handle what the 450 puts out, especially with all of the weight from spinning the track.

I understand what your looking for. I just dont know if its possable for a wet clutch and a transmission to freewheel coast at speed. I have learned not to chop the throttle at high speed, but to ease off and maintain momentum. I'm also on a 2 moto kitted 520 KTM, and was tought to use torque rather than track speed to get around.

I honestly don't think there is such a product on the market. Or at least what I'm looking for. My buddy said something about getting the Hinson clutch with a "freewheel weight" and said that would help it to coast better.

@ off road rider- did you really get a NOS kit on your bike? if so hows that working?

I bought an aceribis X seat and it sucks!!! so frickiin hard its worst than the stock seat.

I did run Nos on my 525. It was nice but Really didnt provide the power one might think.Short burst yes, but long climbs where I really needed it was a fail. Slipper clutches are used for road race bikes and Motard. Ill ask a few pro Motard riders I know what they are using..
I didnt have issues with clutches but did blow a Tranny on the 525..

Please post your "coasting" results (speed=distance) when you find the clutching solution your looking for...you may be onto something...
