Reflective Heat Tape

hvac tape is fine...never caught fire....no open flames in my engine compartment?

Gman.. I used the same HVAC tape as you show in your pic....Nice job on your install of the tape.

Layed the sled over on the muffler side of the sled in heavy coastal snow... this pushed the side panel against the muffler... The muffler still melted a hole in the panel.

I've not had that problem since using good quality insulation.

Yes, it is more expensive, but... IMO, so are side panels.

Different opinions...diff methods... All good.

Oregonsledder I like your idea. My problem now is I through my metal piece away. I wonder what gauge the sheet metal was. :face-icon-small-con

I still have my metal piece and there's no way I'm putting it back on, the cheap home depot heat tape is more than adequate just layer it if you are worried. Been using it for years on many sleds. Pm me if you want the metal shield.

What sled and what muffler? I'd say that's next to impossible with the Pro - mine has been on it's side/upside down, etc.,etc. for more than I'd care to admit and zero issues. The Pro mufflers have a heat containing black high temp coating from one of my customers. This technology was not available on the Dragons (nor do they burn off and rust like on the Dragons). I was skeptical at first but not any longer!

Cheers,

G
