just bought a leftover 08 1000 and the dealer told me not to run the update if i was going to run a y pipe and can. should have tried it stock first before putting on the y pipe and can.haven't ridden it yet so if it runs like sh*t i guess i will have to try it in stock form. hope it works fingers crossed!!!!!!!!!!!

If you are going to run a Y pipe and can, or maybe even an air box mod you might not want to get the reflash. Stock to stock, they run much better with the reflash imo. You may still be able to get away with a y pipe and can... I have a can and am just fine...

reflash?

I road my 08 m1000 for about a year, ran great, specially after i added y pipe, can, reeds and boondocker (reeds don't seem to make much of a difference in the m1000 imo). I was talked into the reflash and it ran like s**t. I was not happy. Since though, I had the thing reflashed and redid my BD settings and am slowly getting it back.
If it runs good with the add-ons, I would'nt get the reflash, imo.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD MAN DONT DO IT!!!ive done the reflash on mine and i would not recommend it to anyone i had my 07 reflashed to a 09 then flashed back to an 08 with the setup i had with mods it was way too rich in the mid range if you do it by a bd box so you can tune out the fat spot the reflash is not the same as the 09 mapping with a speedwerx combo ypipe pipe can rkt head ported cylinders bdx air intake i could NOT tune the fat spot out with a doebeck style fuel controller make sure you get a box you can pull fuel with good luck

So are you saying that someone can reflash my 08 ecu back to the original map. I had the updated flash done to my 08 M1000 and sled does not run as well but i was told there is no going back.
