Reeds???

I am looking for some extra ponies out of my 600 liberty and thought reed valves would be a good place to start. I have an aftermarket can and I believe it's geared down. Should I go with complete cages or will just replacing the reeds give me a noticable gain. Also correct me if I am wrong, my sled is a 2000 xcsp 440, the stock bottom gear is a 35 tooth. My sled has a 40 tooth. Unfortunatley I did not build the sled so I am uncertain about a few things, one being the gearing. I am open to any trail friendly mods. Keep in mind I am in Maine and we don't get snow like you do out west. Thanks

Reeds won't do much for you... maybe help out the throttle response, but the 600 small block is a pretty snappy motor already.

Find someone that offers a good clutch kit for it and put your money there first.

If you want more HP, then you can put a pipe on it and it does help it.

Reeds would be way down on the list of things to do.
