REEDS Boyesen or V-Force?? 06 Summ X800

I have an 06 Summ X800 and I would like to add some reeds. I of course have add some conflicting advice on what brand will work best with my seld?? Has anyone tried this before and can offer some intelligent advice on what brand to use and why??

Thanks!

my experience

I put a set of new v-force reeds on my 05 800 Rev last season and after 5 rides, the carb boots had delaminated so badly that you could see daylight through both of them all the way across the bottom of them. After a motor rebuild, I know have Boysen Rage Cages, they are mostly aluminum and there is only a small coupler that is rubber. I assume v-force had some bad rubber or somthing like that, but still. I wont tell you that v-force is no good but.........look what happened to me and soooo many others.

Moto Tassarini (V-Force) DOES know about the problems and will send you new boots but they won't shell out any coin for your motor!! my .02$

Couldn"t of said it better about the V-Force ( s hIT)

Ran a set of Boysen for three years, one rubber boot let go...cost $13 to fix, way better throttle response. Dino

Thanks for the info guys!! Huge help. I have the Boyesen's on order since October and getting impatient of course. Was wondering if the V-Force was a good option but it sure sounds like its not! Thanks again, I will just have to wait for my Boyesen's to show up!

No, the factory ones will just delaminate again, and they want almost as much for stock ones as they do for Boyesens, I just put Boyesens in mine over the summer, fit great, and all aluminum!

Ive had my VFIII reeds for 3 years now and like them, but!! last december I found mine cracked. I got new boots for free but then in april I found these were cracked already. We'll see if they replace them again.

IMHO-

stock reeds and 1/4" reed spacer and new 2007 boots (new rubber and only $65 ea) first
Boyeson second (Boyeson first if you dont want to mess with stock) no spacers
v-force a distant third...BJ

anyone did any testing comparing the three?

Yes I tested

I tested all three on my 05 800 Summit. Ripped out multiple stock. The V force lasted less than a month. Boysens are the only ones that held together. With the new Boysen nitrile adapters you shouldn't rip any adapters. I was VERY happy with the Boyesens performance and reliability. Put the Boyesens on and ride the others are a complete waste of money. You can use V force if you want cos the name "sounds fast" but they won't last. When my XP rips out the stock boots i'll be putting Boyesens on it too.

Thats what I was wondering THANKS. If I can get V-Force to replace the boots again I'll sell them and go from there.

boyesen VS VF3

Put it this way boyesen power valves are susposed to be the only ones that will hold up under turbo boost. Still no garanty under high boost!!!!!
I am checking on avalibility for the 800HO, sould have a reply in the next couple of days.

Well I am STILL waiting for my Boyesens to come in!! Pretty close to saying F it and just staying stock! So if I do stay stock it sounds like use a 1/4" spacer and update to the 07 Boots and run it. Where do you get the 1/4" spacer or are guys just fabbing one themselves?

Cudney sells a kit that looks like 1/4" thick

Doo also sells them, look at the online parts catalog for part #, but they're thicker than 1/4", I got a pair and they're almost 7/16" thick.
