Reed stuffer yes or no?

Has anyone taken the reed stuffers out of a 2011 pro RMK 800? What about air box mods? I have a power commander so I don't care if it needs to be programmed. Just want to know if anyone has removed them and if so did it make a difference ?

I accidentally left mine out for one ride.
I had a terrible midrange detonation.
Assuming turbulence in the reed cage?
Found them on my work bench and slapped them in.
Cured right away.

Remove the air noise horns in the upper air plenum.

Trs added another air horn in the airbox shelf.

Thanks for the input. I'm sorry but are you saying you took both the stock air horns out and then added one new one?

Sheetmetalfab means you can just remove the two horns from the shelf. TRS left his in and added an additional horn. Bikeman performance takes out the horns and adds three more holes. They claim 3hp. Up to you what you do, but there are certainly gains to be had by modding the air box shelf. Read what Bikeman performance has to say about it.... http://bikemanperformance.com/snowm...-polairs-pro-r-600-800-cfi-air-box-shelf.html

I believe you mis-read SheetMetalFab's post; As I read it; he removes the air horns in the hood intake plenum and leaves the two air horns in the air box shelf intact. TRS adds an air horn into the air box shelf.

I personally still have not recovered from Bikeman's blatant misrepresentation of their HP numbers, it will be a long time before I put any stock in their claimed numbers and opinions, as a result. FWIW
