Red Deer Falls

Sounds good. Myself and a couple of friends are thinking of heading up that way but have never been there before. Anyone give some decent directions on how to get there. We're in Grande Prairie.

There is alot of oilfield activity going on in that area now. Road security is at km 0 so I'm not sure if they'll let you go without a radio. As far as the RX/TX I think it's 150.200 and the tone is 143. Just going off memory cause the list is in my KW. Vector or Expert Mobile have rental radios for use.

Fastest way to get out there is to take sec 722 south at beaverlodge and grab the monkman pass rd (hiding Creek Rd), which will take you to the heritage hwy. To get to it, stay on 722, take a right at the hinton trail hall (4-way stop), and go to rr 121, go left for 2 miles to twp 700, turn right and follow it straight onto the hiding. A radio is a good idea for this rd as well. From the end of the hiding creek, turn left onto the heritage hwy and follow it south to the Ojay road. This used to be called the wapiti 500 rd. this is where you will need the updated radio channels RMK Junky speaks of. From here I am not too sure on the directions, just stay right at all y's I believe. Someone else may be able to help you out on this one. You may want to hook up with someone who has been in there before to lead you up to the promised land. my .02 after a botched beaver creek adventure. other than that, have fun.

that part about hookin up with someone who knows the area is great advice when it comes to this area. it's probably one of the more dangerous places to ride and easy to get lost especially when it starts to snow.
