Could someone tell me the reasons for stator failure. I have had 2 stators fail in 5 minutes of running time. I have checked the main harness ground under the dash. The engine is grounded to the chasis and the main harness ground via seperate wires. This last time it failed the engine was running as if it had 1 dead cylinder. I shut it off now no spark. This happened before and I replaced every other part except the flywheel and stator (Icould not believe a new one would fail that fast) and could not get spark. I replaced the stator and had spark. I have already put a set of trigger coils in. No difference. Could my flywheel be causing the problem? It is the only part I have not replaced.
