Rear suspension upgrade options

I want to upgrade my rear suspension of my 2013 163 For freeride / Tree riding / jumping.

Options are

Upgrade springs with stock shocks is it worth it.

Upgrade shocks Z Broz or Raptor and stay with independent.

Lastly spend the extra cash and go with a coupled skid Timbersled or Kmod.

What do guys like best and mostly what is holding up best. I like to ride hard and I wreck everything what is the stongest. Keep in mind with gear on I am 280 Pounds and I am not fat haha.

I think if you search back you are going to see a lot of different opinions and in the end you still have the same questions. Seems that many of the guys that start with a upgraded shock kit eventually end up with a complete skid and say they should have done it from the start. You will probably spend more money doing it in steps but it might make you appreciate the pluses of a aftermarket skid when it's all said and done.
I think any of the main player's skids are going to provide a more tailored(280lbs) and better performing ride, it's just a matter of who you want to deal with and price.
Don't exclude Toms Snowmobile's skid from your list. He is a little below the radar on Polaris but I know first hand that it works and will most likely cost less than the others. Give them a call.

Bang for your buck

Buy the Assault rear shock
(Sell yours to somebody with a std. Rmk)
Add a resi to the center with revalve.

Rode back to back with a stock sled yesterday and the KMOD/Raptors are definitely a big improvement. You can try for yourself in 2 weeks.

For me...If I upgrade... I'll be going to the the Fox Float equipped Timbersled.. very refined in its 8th year of evolution.

Stock skid complete can sell for $1000... that makes the T-sled pretty attractive in comparison to the shocks.

Assault rear shock. Turn up the rear shock spring and ride the bag off it. If something is gonna break then at least in 5 days you have your new parts. 1-2 weeks waiting for part is missing out on some good riding. Not saying aftermarket stuff is bad it's just winters too short.

So True.

What about the differences in independent to coupled skids for different styles of riding. I know coupled skids are great for climbing but what about in different styles of riding.

I was watching a video last night and Chris Burandt is still running a independent stock style skid. Just with Fox shocks in it.

Do independent style skids work better in the trees and stand up better to abuse?
