Rear Suspension Shocks 2007 vs. 2006

Tonight I pulled the rear suspension out of my sled tonight to change a couple of things, and check some stuff. I pulled the rear shock off my suspension(since I've heard how stiff they are) to see how bad it actually is. Oh my god is that thing stiff!!!!!!

I have the same shock off a 2006 M7 laying here as well, so I compared the two. The 2006 shock is way softer and nicer feeling compared to the 2007. I'm wondering why Arctic Cat decided to stiffen the shocks up so much on the 2007's. I was also wondering if I should order the 06' valving for my shock, or order a custom valving to match my weight a little better. I have a buddy who is capable of re valving fox shocks, so I was wondering what I should do?

Looking for personal experiences re valving the shocks on an 2007, and how satisfied you were. Thanks...

Not only is the rear shock stiffer so are the springs. I replaced both my rear springs and shock with a new 2006 M7 springs and shock. To me it made a world of difference, better weight transfer and better ride. I would think that revalving the shock would help but you will still have the stiff springs.

Yeah, thanks. I was wondering that also; if the springs were stiffer as well. I only weight about 150 fully dressed, so I'm definitely looking at making some changes to the rear. I've only ridden this sled a couple hundred miles since I bought, so didn't really get a feel for it last year.
