Rear Suspension For Turbos that WORKS!

got another great day on my sled yesterday and its amazing how well the Timbersled Mtn tamer skid works. yesterday's snow conditions were good traction snow with about 8" of carving fluffier snow on top. pulled a couple of decent climbs and the skid did not allow my sled to trench at all really. not only that in this first video clip (which is A LOT steeper than it looks) i'm able to slow down at the crown of the wind lip to eye up the left chute (one i totaled my sled in last year) and then take off again. its amazing how well the Mtn Tamer couples to get you the most possible traction in the situation and then pop you right back up on top of the snow again. Also got to be around one of the new rear arm kits for the pro's, it took a lot of the over transfering away from the skid. I'm excited to get to ride one under boost, as the new polaris skid is a vast improvement over previous years but still is not a true coupling suspension and def. not good enough to handle 200+ HP.
i dont know how to embed the videos so here are the links

I bought a turbo dragon last year that came with the timbersled suspension and I have to agree it does work pretty good for floatation and not trenching. However, I can't keep mine from bottoming out on the whooped out trails and coming down hill fast and hitting those g-outs. I have the upgrade kit with new bushings, larger lower shock mount shafts and stuff. Looks like my rear shock upper mount shaft is bent a little as well now. I have been trying different adjustments and now have it setup exactly like timbersleds guide says. I pumped my rear shock all the way up to 165 and front shock up to 65lbs and it still not only bottoms out but bounces off moguls like a fat guy on a pogo stick. I see lots of guys on here loving theirs so wondering if I have some shock problems maybe, I feel like the fox floats are the problem. I got rid of the crappy air shocks in the front end already, what are my options for replacing the floats in the back?

i'd switch out to the float x or the zbor's exit shock in the rear/and or both front and rear track shocks. that will help keep you from bottoming out. mine does it every once in awhile on the trail if i hit a real hard mogul but i like it soft so that it eats moguls when hauling @$$ uphill so i just dont hit the big bumps in the road super fast. i know a lot of guys who have switched out to the other shock packages though and loved it!

I put a timbersled on my turbo xp this year and it works great. I am happy with it.
Butt..... Are you sure it wasn't trenching because of the hard pack icee snow we got a week or two ago. I rode trinities last weekend and the sled wouldn't trench because it wouldn't go through the hard pack under the 5-8" of new snow. I thought it was weired untill I realized what was happeneing. It would still leave a huge trench in the deep snow before it got warm and hardened up the snow.
We need more snow....

it def. helped yesterday but i have a good 8-10 rides in deep pow this year and my sled trenches way less than the piped m1000's in my group, pro rmk's or Tm8's. i pulled a line up a hill we call the "bunny Hill" and had a 4-6" trench, had a buddy on a piped good running m1000 track poach and didnt make it 1/3 the way up. here are some pics

mtnclmr I think your shocks need rebuilt shot you a PM also there are some options now if you want to upgrade to a better shock.

You are probably right Justin, I'll have to hunt down a rebuild kit.

BTW, nice chute climbs jkinzer.

When was the Mt Tamer purchased?

When was the last confirmed shock rebuild?

Do you have the proper tools to service the Float (nitrogen charge bottle/needle-gun, head wrenches, seal tools etc)..

IMO...Best to send it in to Timbersled and get it serviced... They had a quick turnaround for me last year at this time. The cost is very reasonable and if there are any upgrades to the valving...you will be able to get that at the same time.
