Rear skid bolted to lower hole on tunnel?

I just bought an 07 M8 and was looking at the rear skid and noticed that it was bolted to the lower hole? What does this do for me? I have heard it is suppose to make the front feel light... but have also heard it makes is heavier so its better for climbing... If i move it to the higher hole will the skis come off the ground more? Any comments are welcome

its simple really, list the rear and your center point of gravity moves to the front, drop the rear and the nose will be lighter and easy to steer......tons of other things to tweak to get the ride you want....

IMO. The '07 skid really pushed the front down and did not wheelie much if at all. It will only increase the ski pressure and plant the nose on the ground more.

PUT IT BACK TO THE TOP HOLE! Thats my .02

I've always ran mine in the lower hole with the thought of a little more clearance for snow through the tunnel meaning better snow evacuation. When I put my TIMBERSLED skid on my M8, they told me to use the upper hole. Otherwise I was taking a much bigger chance of breaking something.

When I had the stock skid, I always used the lower hole with the thought that the tunnel would be that much higher so in the deep snow, the running boards wouldn't be dragging as much. Don't know if it really made a difference, but I just adjusted the limiter strap to get the ski pressure I wanted.

You are talking about the bolt at the rear of the skid right, your wording could be taken either way, If your talking about the rear bolt put it in the upper hole on the 07.

Anybody have some pics of the hole locations for the front and back? i have a lower hole in my rear drop bracket! but norhing in the front? i have an 07 m8

look on the inside of the tunnel,

to add to this, you have to drill the hole.

inside the tunnel you will see a steal bracket that has the hole a half inch lower than the stock hole. drill that hole through and
mount the front of the skid lower.

I like this mod with addition of the SLP powder pro skis.

Did you do it on a 07 or a 08.

I think it makes a different feel on every year

For me it made the front end feel lighter. It was easier to steer the sled in setup snow and wheelied easier in the soft snow. It may have had a bad affect in the really deep stuff, maybe trenched more but not really cuz I only weigh 150#. I trench much less then the huge guys do!:D
