Met up with Billygoat and a few other SW forum members from Minnesota at Rabbit Ears yesterday. We were having a nice day, decent snow and seemingly no rocks. So wrong. Went to hit a wind blown lip by a tree in a meadow and turns out there was a nice unfriendly rock waiting under the snow. Bent the Sh*t out of the lower A arm. Bent the steering rod and broke off the sway bar. Ended up tying the arm together half a** and riding it for s short period. Then too much snow collected in the clutch side and rendered my belt useless. My buddy (DBaker) pulled me for a good distance until we hit a hill and he lost traction. Luckily Billygoat's boosted M8 had the cajones to pull my sled to the top of the hill. After looking at the machine this morning it looks like the bridge on the bottom of the frame that the a arms pivot on is intact and without damage (luckily). So far it seems like all I may have to buy is a new lower arm a steering arm and some shock parts, maybe even an entire new shock. If anyone has any insight where I might be able to find OEM parts cheap I would love the help. I'm also new to snowmobiles so any other advice on how to go about fixing this problem would be appreciated. Just wanted to send a shout out to Billygoat and thank him for all the help yesterday.
