I have an 04 Kingcat carbed bought reverse kit, and instructions say to have cdi box "re-flashed" if operationg below 6,000 feet. Is that for efi only sleds? Local dealer has no idea, has anyone else dealt with this? Thanks

It is for all, carb or efi. Is it new? I would think all have been done by now. I had mine done when it was new. 05 carb KK. Where do you live? I don't know if it is totally imperative. The dealers and factory would like you to think so. It does affect performance, I have heard. Not for the better. Maybe someone at a bigger Cat dealer could give you more info. -00's

The 900 cat twin has two different timing curves. The low altitude program came on the ZR's, ZL's, etc. The 1M's had the high altitude curve, which has a 2.5 degree advance over the low altitude.
If you haven't been having any problems with it, the reverse kit won't change that.
