Only one ***** about the best sled I have ever rode. Twice this happened to me. I'll be climbing and all of a sudden it seems like all the omph is gone. Everthing seems to working shifting etc. just no get up and go. First time I tightened up a rave hose on the rave itself and wow, back in the saddle again. Second time most of the hoses were loose with oil and fuel around the fitting. It was a hot day in the spring. Tightened them up best I could (as access is brutal, go figure hiding all those hoses, a good idea.)
and away it went again, good for awhile. The hoses and fittings don't match up in size. the plastic ones seem tight but the metal ones are mismatched and hard to tighten. Any body nelse have this problem or could this be some of the socalled clutch problems out there? I checked my clutch when I got home and it was good.

Huh? :face-icon-small-con Rave valves don't have hoses. If you are swaping your rave valves between the cylinders that is a BIG no no! What year and model is your sled?

raves have had hoses since 06 on 800s (Ptek)and if the're leaking at all your sled will lack top end big time, and it makes no difference if you switch them cylinder to cylinder.

Yes they have hoses. And I'm not switchin anything. They just come loose and the hoses are not the right size for the nipples.

My 07 same thing until I moved them and changed some hoses. hard to find right size. ski-doo stuff seems to get soft and come loose.

Food for thought. how are these machines working that are reving 7800 - 7900 rpm, when the raves come in at about 7900 rpm.(ski-doo man.) The exhaust ports are not open full yet.

E-raves use the hoses (ptek engines)

But that doesnt make sense that the hoses falling off would affect WOT operation, it doesnt.

At partial throttle the erave solenoid opens up allowing the vacume to close the rave valve, but when your flying wide open it still acts just like the old raves and uses exhaust pressure open up the valve. Having the hose off would not affect WOT operation at all, but it would be a bit of a dog down low.

ya i guess i was thinking the vacume sucks it open but your right the diaphragm expands as the valve opens,so do those solenoids close at like 7600 rather than open?

Book says that valve closed at idle valve middle from 6200 to 7900 , open after 7900. engine stopped valve is in middle. vacum closes valve from middle pos. pres opens valve from middle pos.
