Rattle canning a-arms

Bought a spare set of react a-arms... made the assumption they were black. They showed up and are not

I honestly don't really care that they are raw. Like I said just spares but if I can paint them for a few dollars with good results I might.

Anyone do it with good results?

Thoughts?

clean really well and give them a shot of plasticote engine enamel, its cheap and pretty tough stuff, they make a top clear coat as well, same stuff

Powdercoat them. It's cheap and easy

I'd agree that Powdercoat would be a better solution than paint – may be worth taking it somewhere for that. If you paint them, I'd recommend a dedicated primer and top coat rather than 2-in-1. Prep is the most important part; I'd go over them with Scotchbrite first and thoroughly de-grease. Then go with several thin coats; thick is more likely to run, and chips more easily. Probably stuff you already know, but just figured I'd share what I've learned from my adventures in painting. For brands, I've had good luck with Plasti-Kote and VHT; Rust-oleum is ok. Finally, make sure it's for metal surfaces and outdoor applications; Exterior automotive paint will cover your bases, but isn't the only thing that'll work.

Powdercoat them. It's cheap and easy

but remember to press the bearings out as the heat may get to them, depends on the process used, go low temp for sure

Don't waste alot of time on prep and cleaning.shoot 'em with brake clean and blast 'em.

There is a guy up by you that does cerakote. Do that.

Eastwood 2K is the closest thing you will get to a professional product in a can. Catalyzed 2 part primer, paint, and clear. Expensive, but should be the best if you want to DIY.
