Subject: Raptor X2 Handling
There have been cases in the field where we have had customer complaints of “washing out” on aggressive carves in deep powder and some extreme side hills. After investigation, we have found two X2 system components that were out of spec.
1) A late production change to the foot to ski saddle interface resulted in less ski rubber pre-load.
2) The ski rubber durometer spec was not firm enough for aggressive riders.
After correcting these dimensions, we have found that our X2 works as intended and is very much in check with the performance we have refined the last two years of testing and development.
This is a very competent system and is the best aftermarket front suspension for a snowbike but like most systems needs to be 100% correct to work as intended.
We will have a service kit ready to ship later this week to all X2 customers (including all CMXBK customers).
This kit will include new ski rubbers and aluminum shims to preload the ski rubber much more effectively which will keep the ski flatter when it’s loaded and generate more lift.
