We ripped the hook out of it's nose and it swam back down to the bottom believe it or not .
I just read in Alaska Magazine that there used to be Commercial Skate Fishery in AK. In 2006 USA exported $3.1 million worth of frozen skate to S. Korea. In AK 23 boats registered for the fishery and they cought 120 000 pounds of skate... We caught few of them but let them go as well, although the article says the meat from the wings tastes like scallops....

LMAO! I think we just need to learn how to enjoy hot summers again! So many lakes to swim in! The free tan we never had before!

I dont have any pictures because im lame like that. But had a awesome weekend up in Hatchers. Dash was that your truck up there most of the day sat?
Oh, now I know what you meant in your email... No, on Sat Blondz and I played it by ear and we ended up floating Portage creek (or whatever name that is....) I am sure she will post some photos because it was AWESOME weekend, full of suprises, events, good times, sun and more sun and no sunscreen, LOL
No agenda ~ spontaneity was great for weekends like this!!
Floating Portage and biking back up to the lake, then swinging into Hope for "A beer" only to find a live band and a bunch of great folks who insisted that we go to a pig roast by the water with fireworks and an awesome sunset. Got to the cabin late but had a surprise visitor (thanks Hun). Managed to get just enough sleep to hit it hard Sunday morning. We biked the entire 23 miles of Johnsons Pass ~ which was pretty amazing and very HOT. Good times!!!
