what is difference between 441 ramps and 413's (or 414's)?

where does one find the skidoo race manual? my ramps are stamped 441 for sure. What did the 09 xps 163's come with for ramps?

09's come with 441's....08's come with 413's. Opinions will vary, but I believe the 441's will pull harder through a larger range of speed than the 413's.

what I am after is a faster, quicker upshift. My thoughts are as such, as I am WAY new to TRA's.

only as relating to ramps and pin wieght for now, I am running 441's now. If I switch to 413 because they are a steeper ramp this will allow me to run more pin wieght which shud lead to a faster up shift.

or no. ?

and what of these oversized rollers? +1mm i would assume would also increase upshift?

Steeper ramp slow upshift. It's all depends on who you talk to on what works better. (Shallow ramp/less pin weight) (steep ramp/Heavy pin weight)

I prefer flatter ramp and thus you have to run less pin weight.

if the 414 ramps are the most agressive, I assume they would be the best ramps for a fast upshift then...?

I would run 441's for low elevation (even up high but you have to retune the rest of the set up to match)...the 414's are a OK again for low...

same profile different tip hieght..412,413,441
different start, same finnish 414,415

413's

We just tried the 413's this weekend in our 09 163's, not sold on them as Dave said. 6000feet 2 feet of fresh powder and still had to go to click 4 just to get 8000 R's in a good pull at 40+ track speed, i think the 441 pulled better. But we were up against click 4 there too. I'm gonna put the 441's back and take out a little pin wieght, What do you think Dave, what works best for you at Revy, we have about the same conditions here???

What would you suggest then Throttle?

That is the question of the month. To be honest I am not sure. I would suggest what Big John recommended, 441 or 414's. the only 400 series ramps I had in mine were the stock ones. I am running some old school ramps now that have been remachined so they really don't match any profile. They have a very aggresive shift pattern all the way through and are probally something you would see for drag racing or flatlanding and something that most would claim you would never get to work in the mountains.

The issue I have seen with all the 400 series ramps is the tip is too steep and upshift after 60 - 70mph (depending on how you are geared) is almost not existent. With my stock ramps I had over 17 grams of pin weight in it and on the trail it would hit 60mph and STOP. It was better with the stock 21 tooth but still did not upshift correctly.:D:beer;

I find it interesting that Ski-Doo came out with a reverse cut helix this year. More finish rate (more aggressive upshift) as you get going faster???? coincidence or is it BRP trying to overcome the steep tip on the ramps and try to make it upshift with the secondary?????Something tells me that BRP had the same exact issue and instead of spending alot of money on new ramp profile and R&D they used a band aid and are trying to make the primary upshift on the upper end with the steeper finish rate helix. This is just my opion but I like it becuase it supports our theory that all the 400 series ramps lack upshift on the upper end
