Rail Extensions

HI, I got a 141 track for a great price looking to put it on my 02 edge x (121") I want tipped up extensions, but i can only find ones for a 144. Wondering if there is enough adjustment to fit the 141, or if anybody knows where to find these. Any info would be great.

Not sure that you will find any 141 extensions that are tipped up. I did the exact same thing with my 700 about 6-7 years ago and didn't find any then when this was a really popular switch. The problem is the rarity of the 141, and the fact that the 144 has much better tracks available for it. I am assuming that you made sure the track had notches for the coolers in the tunnel? If not, take out the cutting tools for an afternoon of custom track making:face-icon-small-dis

I used the billet extensions from MMP as they allow use of hyfax for the entire length of the rail. With my install I also used the Tri-City Polaris 8in big wheel kit. Works and looked great on the old girl. The amount of play I still had was generous, but it was not enough to think that the stock idlers with the 144 would work...that would be too tight I think. However, I suppose (and I haven't done the math so don't jump on it) if you put on smaller drivers and kept the small rear idlers it would be possible...just have a really useless attack angle (borderline too steep already IMO). Besides, with a little adjustment of the suspension to put more pressure on the skis (what I did) will keep you fairly well planted in the corners. I am attaching a pic from way back when this was first finished (pre-polished tunnel, shock covers, etc). Western power sports made the tunnel extension I used, though tracks usa makes a nice one as well.

You will want to gear down a tooth from stock...can't remember the exact numbers but it worked well. The Polaris clutching recommendations if you have clean and aligned clutches are surprisingly good. Although, does this sled have any engine mods? Then be sure to check with the mod manufacturer for ideas...

Good luck with the sled:party:

Sorry I don't remember the part number, but the guys at MMP were really good help on the phone. I believe the kit I used was designed for use with the stock axle, I just decided to decrease rolling resistance a little bit with the TCP kit.

The other thing I should note is that due to my liking for airtime, I added a cross-brace (you can see it in the picture) that was basically just threaded barstock with washers and locking nuts on either side of it. So far no bending....

Good luck with a fun project!
