Racks and Tunnel bag options

Quickdraw, were you able to get your gas can and bag both mounted on the 20 inch rack? Let me know how things worked out.
Thanks Bob

I haven't gotten back to my sled yet to mount the rack, probably another three weeks (scuba diving in the carribean next week). I don't think the Rev gas can will fit with a bag on the 20" (146) rack. It should work great on the 24" (154) rack. I doo think that a smaller generic can, similar to the Polaris can for the Holtz rack will fit right on and be cheaper than buying a Rev can if you don't already have one. I will probably go with a Poo can and strap for around $35 I think.

sledskiing here are the measurements. Width is the same as a stock tunnel.406-257-7828 or e-mail at vmi@centurytel.net
146 racks are 20 inches long and have 5 crossbars $130
154 racks are 24 inches long and have 5 crossbars $130
163 racks are 29 1/2 inches long and have 6 crossbars $140
Extra crossbars $5

Got the first VMI rack on the 08.

The install was very easy and clean. It took about 15 minutes and is very solid. I got 2 extra bars for the bottom so my Snobunje bag and future gas can will be up off of the heat exchanger.

Vmi?

I will call or email them but was curious if they have a rack for a renegade? I think something like that would be great on this machine for taking things along.

Heres the rack I build. This one is powder coated they normally come in alum finish.

Sizes starts at 16" and up.

Decision finaly made

I finished putting my second rack together and finally decided on a gas can setup. I'll mount this rack on my 09 and setup my 08 the same way when I get back to my sleds. $10 gas can, $5 for strapping, $58 for Snobunje bag and $130 for the VMI rack...$203 total.

vmi racks

I have two of the vmi racks and they are sweet. After using them some, I just love how you can change the bars to hold different stuff. I saw a guy on the trail the other day who was shocked at how much stuff I had on my tunnel. He showed me where he bent his tunnel with not near the stuff I carry. Bob told me the rack would make my tunnel stronger and he was right.
