Race Gas in Canada

So what is the real scoop about race gas in Canada? Can we import it and just not buy it in Canada. Is anybody aloud to sell it in Canada? When I stopped at the border and asked. first of all they were unaware. When he went online and checked he said that it was environment Canada that made the law but it was not the borders job necessarily to uphold Environment Canada's laws. In other words it could be but may not be stopped at the border???!!?@?!?

Who knows

I really need to find out about this as well...

Will do some research tomorrow. Hope somebody with some knowledge on the subject chimes in! And I'll be looking to buy 2 or 3 barrels in the Calgary area if anyone has some for sale. 110 or higher...

I buy race gas in the states all the time. Sunoco 110 for $385 a drum. Anyways when I bring it across the border I just pay tax and a fuel tariff, simple as that. Hope this helps

and to think with the dollar being par right now but sleds are $4000 cheaper across the border in the States.:face-icon-small-dis
:focus:

Just took advantage of that dollar. Shane is putting together my first turbo sled right now - 2010rgextreme- let it snow.
Now to fuel the machine. Will be starting with low boost untill I can figure everything out. Looking like 100LL may be the best option for now.

I talked to gentleman at compression techknowledgies ,Fort st john, northeastern ,bc .he said he can bring leaded fuel across the border now, maybe the environmentalist backed down.the price for c14 was 799 a barrel

Went to the local airstrip here and it is no issue getting 100ll. $1.27/ litre. I know it's not race gas, but it answers some of the questions I had about if the airport will even sell to non pilots.

Further research I was told that you can buy it as long as it is only going in off road machines.Last year I would just buy 4 barrels at a time in the states and they would deliver them to me in Canada. I will do the same I think but if I lost them at customs I think I might loose my mind.......:face-icon-small-dis

That is the same info that I found today as well, as long as it is for off road vehicles it is all good.

I buy Sunoco from a distributor in Spokane and deal for them. That's cheaper than my dealer cost on fresh drums. Now, bulk not factory sealed, that's a different story, I sell it cheaper than that for bulk 55's.
