Wow, that's just terrible news. What in the world happened? I hadn't seen or talked to Chad in several years, but still considered him a friend. I'm very sorry and saddened to hear this. My heartfelt condolences to all family and friends.

This picture was taken in Feb of 2004 on Carter Mountain overlooking Lake Almanor. RIP, We never got to take the cat up on dyer. I can't believe it, you just never know.

I received a call from Chadd's father eariler tonight. It sounds like the services will be in Chico. I am sure there will be lots of people in attendance. I am sure the date and location will be posted here when it is all figured out. Shane, thanks for doing what you could to help him, I hope your doing ok.

Wow!!! Just got home and got the news. Chad was a great person. Just went to dinner with him and friends on Thur night. The snowmobiling community has lost a truly great person. my prayers go out to all his family members.

We lost an amazing person today. I am still in disbelief and I can tell you so are most of his friends and family. It was a rough afternoon to say the least. Details will be confirmed tomorrow, but right now it sounds like a heart condition. Arrangements should be confirmed in the next day or two and will be announced ASAP. I spoke to Chadd on the phone 5 mins before it happened, he sounded fine, and then Shane Kelley found him outside his home shortly after. Chadd was like a brother to many people and someone that made everyday you spent with him, better. He had a heart of gold. Chadd put a smile on my face everytime I saw his face or heard his voice. A small part of the life of many people was lost today.........and lossing him is something that can never be replaced. There are not enough words in the dictionary to describe the feelings and sorrow that is felt with the loss of Chadd...it almsot seems impossible to grasp. You will missed dearly Chadd. God Bless you and your family. My life is better for having had you in it........I love you and will miss you brother. :(

Thanks WCS for posting. Just didn't have the will to do it last night. Like a lack of acknowlegement could somehow make what I heard, un-heard.

For some reason, this morning I just can't come up with the right combination of keys strokes to post anything the least bit coherent. Sitting, watching the cursor flash, dumbfounded at the loss of our friend. As a fellow big man, Chadd was always a riding inspiration for me. By God, if he could do it so could I. Deep pow, Chutes or boondocking, I was always amazed at how good of a technical rider Chadd could be.

It seems like everytime we rode, we ended up somewhere my heart rate was way too high and way too much adreneline was in my system. (Like the "BUG EYES" incident at Bluelakes). But afterwards and for years after we'd always bust up laughing about "remember when.....". I'm absolutely positive that anyone who knew Chadd had a story or 12 like that.

We'll miss you my friend, but I know that your powder is always light, fluffy and over the windshield. You've a limitless supply of race gas and synthetic oil (unless of course its a Yamaha, in which case you'll only need oil once a year). All of your metal surfaces are polished. And your summer only lasts until the ATV trails get really dusty. Rest easy my friend, you are one of the good ones.
:wine:

Anthony, please do give me a call when you have the opportunity.

Your all welcome. I hope I was not out of line by doing this, I just know that it would be tough for Chadds close freinds to do this. I found out about an hour earlier that my grandfather had just passed away before Chadd, so I felt like it was the wright thing to do.

Good luck all......

i knew chadd pretty much all my life, I found out right after it had happend, still hasnt sunk in, crazy to think that he is gone!!!

jesse, sam, shane, steve, and the rest of his good friends and family, I cant say how sorry that myself and countless others in the snowmobiling community feel right now and what a great positive fun loving person was taken from us.
