Quiet aftermarket can

Anyone have a recommendation for a quiet aftermarket can for a 2004 Kingcat? I would like the weight savings of an aftermarket can, but I am sure my neighbors would not like me loading my sled with one.

if all your doing is loading and they have a problem, well then tell them you have a problem with there house blocking your view.

Either CPC, or SLP The CPC is a deep tone, but all aftermarket cans are louder than stock. You may want a front dump as others have said work better in the deep.

can

I have a black magic, D&D and Jaws front dump. The Jaws is way loud and hard on the ears and the Black Magic is pretty quiet but the D&D is sweet. If you want quiet find a Black Magic can.

I had an SLP single pipe and can on my 04 900 and it was as quiet as you could want. Im thinking I will sell it now that the twins I put on have proved themselves.

SLP is real quiet. I had one on my 800 and had no problem getting into Yellowstone Park when they were checking your sleds noise output but still let two strokes in there.

quiet must be relative

I have an slp can on my 04 900, I like the sound but I would never call it quiet, I have never ridden it with a stock can so I can't compare but I rode a Polaris last year for 1 trip and it was so dang quiet (compared to mine) that I felt like I was on horse drawn sleigh.

I gotta disagree with CPC being quiet. I purchased this can on the advice of a friend who said "CPC makes one of the quieter aftermarket cans on the market." Yea right.... this thing is loud and cracky. Don't get me wrong, it's a great can. I noticed performace gains the day after I installed it (plus the weight loss is sweet). Just don't buy it because you think it's quiet.

Stock pipe + Cutler can = loud
CPI Racing 900 single pipe + Cutler can = louder but not as cracky

Whoops, I only recommended it as others said it was a deeper sound. I had no idea it was as loud as the PPP can I have.

Thanks for the info Mike

Slp.........

I like my SLP, it is louder than stock. But is not bad at all, good deep sound. Noise was a consideration for me when I bought mine. I don't like noisy sleds. Noise will eventually get us off the mountain. Good Luck- 00's

Just ordered a SLP can thanks to this thread and some other goodies. The racing can that came with my sled leaves me humming the same loud tune when I turn it off :musicnote::eek::musicnote: I like hearing the engine and everything but after a few hours it starts to wear on ya.

I'll post up what the sound difference is and if there's a seat of the pants loss or gain after its installed.

That would be good. Do a little video of before you swap, then after. I used our camera and did that with my sled when swapping out the suitcase several years back. Nice to have the comparison and be able to show and let others hear for themselves. :)

Glad to see other noise conscious peeps out there! :beer;
