Quick Video For Those On The Fence

Here's a short video for those on the fence trying to decide between the Pro, Proclimb and E-Tec. The first clip is my 2014 Pro on a steep uphill springtime climb racing a 925 big bore Cat. The next clip is my 2012 Pro whooping up on an E-Tec in the powder. The third run-off is my 2014 Pro outpulling a well tuned Proclimb in some real heavy springtime snow. I tossed in a few little chute climbing clips for fun. My 2014 runs a step above my 2012 and looks as though it will give any another normally aspirated 800 fits. Where we ride we race all over Lamoille Canyon for nothing more than bragging rights and have a blast. My 2014 Pro has been a pleasant surprise and has not been outpulled by any other NA 800 in about 50 runs up the mountain against approximately 20 different sleds. Looks like the belt drive and 417 lbs. work well together. I'm not a lightweight either (236 lbs. with gear on) Looks to be a very fun well tuned sled with the factory recommended clutching nearly perfect. :face-icon-small-hap

For the nonbelievers of this post who didn't feel the proclimb got a fair shake here's an additional minivid.

I hope it gets a little interesting, maybe quite a bit of other helmet camera video. Unfortunately, it's hard to even get a good back and forth banter going on here anymore. My new 2014 will almost hang with my old UBR900 Edge, I really never thought I'd see the day. What makes me smile is I can go out and be competitive and not have to pursue aftermarket clutching, pipes, heads, cans, race gas, new mapping, tons of lightweight expensive parts, just pump gas, oil and throw snow in your buddies face!!

Damn that 925 got embarrassed... He needs his money back or should find someone that knows how to tune it.

Pretty good for a sled that's behind the others by 20hp. lol

I have had every year of pro except 14. I heard the 14 runs better. I also have a 14 xm. My experience has been the xm will out climb the pro. As far as the 12 cat, well, they were a pile. The 14 is awesome compared to the 12.It has also been my experience that a lot of big bores make more noise so the owner thinks they make more power. Someone else needs to tune it. I watched a hill climb with a 13 163 xm and a 14 163 cat and the xm won. I would have got in it but my 154 xm is blowed up:face-icon-small-sho. I had my buddies 12 155 pro but it wouldn't have hung with them. Doesn't hold it's r's on the hill. I had a friend that had a 14 pro but he was up in the trees when the hill climb was going on. Wished he was there.

There's something not right if you are spanking a big bore sled that bad. That sled is either not set up right or the rider is a novice and you would have beat him on a 700. Not trying to put your 14 down just saying it don't add up.

So other than the first cat, did the other guys know that they were even in a race? Looked like the Doo was just screwing around and the next guy on the Cat didn't look he even knew you were coming. He was dancing around on his boards and did not look like he was in any type of race. It was either that or they had both beaten you so badly out of the bottom they had quit:face-icon-small-win That's how the vid looked to me anyway. All the new sleds run great. This vid has more bias than the one Yamaha just released, haha.

Ha, thats some funny stuff right there. Looks like someone is trying to stir the pot. The first one with the AC does look like a potential race but the other two, well OP you better work on your reaction time off the line because the competition is multiple sled lengths ahead of you when the video starts. My guess is the last two didn't even know they were in a race. Like what has been said before, all 3 sleds are good sleds!

Well chit - you mean something else besides a Pro can blow up? From all the talk on here you'd think that wouldn't be the case!

They were all legitimate runoffs, the plan was to start from behind and try to run 'em down. We shot several hillclimb type drags that day, but looking backwards doesn't give quite the same perspective as a run-down and is hard on Grandpa Scotty's neck. The E-Tecs trench so bad they just can't seem to climb on the snow as well as the Pro, I thought the video showed a perfect example of that for those who haven't seen or experienced it. We had a highmarking competition the day before between about a half dozen sleds and I sure wish I would have had a camera on my head, the 155 Pro dominated the powderclimb (not by a sledlength but by several sledlengths) in about a 2' deep pull against a few Proclimbs and a couple XM's. I've had several people ask if that underpowered Pro can run with the other brands so I thought I'd take a little time and shoot some video proof for those who want to see how well they work in the mountains. From what I've heard the azz-kicking goes the other way in the flatlands.
