Well preliminary figures show we were up on attendance on saturday by about 348 people. Being as it was not opening weekend of hunting season, no UW game and no Seahawks in town, thats probably the reason. Sunday we were down a few, but all in all looks like a good turnout as far as the economy goes. Blue lot was only down about 14 stalls, inside swap meet about the same as last year and we were only 10 vendors short of last years totals.. Thanks to all who attended. Most vendors had good sales.
We're already working on the show for next year ! All in all, no matter what you think of the our state programs, You HAVE to support WSSA. they do so much for our sport that most dont even know. It's a dedicated very small group of WSSA members that put on the show, go to all the state parks meetings, forest service meetings and fight ALL the battles we face.

If we all don't start to support WSSA, the sport we all love so much, the few that work so hard to keep our available riding areas open, register all of our sleds whether we ride them much or not, soon we may not have a reason to to even own a sled, because there won't there won't be any funds to clear or groom, no where to ride, and eventually no one working to keep our sport alive, all because of a whole bunch of lazy, don't give a crap pukes, that say they love this sport so much! If you are one of the many that bitch a lot but don't help the sport you have not earned the right to bitch about how things are!!!!!

Shout out to all the WSSA folks who worked all weekend. Very professional and to a great job year after year... (except for Brett.... always busting my chops! hehe)

Dan,

Thanks, and huge props to you, all the WSSA members/volunteers, and all of the other volunteers who helped make the snowshow happen!!

To all that b!tched in the past about the show falling on the same weekend as opening day of hunting...you BETTER have made an appearance...otherwise don't EVER b!tch again!!

And, an observation/opinion based on feedback from some vendors who decided not to participate inside: WSSA might think about regulating the swap meet across the street to exclude vendors. We heard from several who decided not to get a booth inside because they could display for free across the street.

Thanks again!!
Cheers!!!

I was there, not hunting, LOL. But then again, most of the time I would go to the Expo instead of hunting. This year I got to do both. Thanks, WSSA.
I really think the blue lot needs to be better regulated. Why can't these folks pay to go sell their stuff inside, under cover. I think you actually end up paying more to sell in the blue lot. And if you're a dealer or business, no way, go inside!

Sure seemed to me to be more people this year though.

Talk all of your buddies to join WSSA and support those who fight for our rights. Better yet, pay for them, and then tell them to pay it forward.

THE BIG BLUE MONSTER !!

We've been dealing with the blue lot for years, its' a big part of the Expo and a lot of that money goes to the WSSA's Legal defense fund. 99% of the vendors out there pay to come into the show, yes it's a much better deal to get a swap meet booth inside which includes 2 passe to the show for both days. ! There are just some people who just like the "party" out there and only want to come for one day , blow their stuff out and leave. some like it some hate, but it's here to stay,

Dan, sorry, I wasn't trying to imply that the Blue Lot should go away...only that dealers/vendors should not be allowed to set up shop there. They should be inside, where they belong.

Blue Lot should be limited to the private sellers, IMO.

Thanks again!!

Can you isolate the problem that you are trying to "solve" by forcing vendors, of few there are, to be moved inside the gate?

I love the snow show! Can we have one in late spring so we can sell all the stuff we don't want for the next season and let someone else store it all summer? I am sure there are dealers who would love to blow out the last of their winter inventory before the long, hot Washington summer.

I’m surprised the dealers don’t do this…

Have a parking lot swap meet, organized and manned by the local club, mid or late season. Could be put on the weekend before local snowmobile event like a poker run, drags, club ride, shoot-out, etc.

Would bring people to the parking lot, mostly to buy the stuff that some one is selling, and gives them an opportunity to come in and compare prices of inventory, order parts, etc.

Just a thought…

Think it was a pretty good year and thanks to the crew for putting it on, one job I would never want!

One thing I would like to see would be some more bigger name shops and maybe more high profile riders at the show. Seems like some of the "wow" factor has left the show yet some of the other shows seems to draw them in.

Maybe a best mod award? There is some really trick stuff out there that I think would draw in crowds and get people excited to buy some new stuff. Use to be you spent all year planning a build for the show and you were excited to see the crazy one off stuff.

What about having sled movies on a big screen? Maybe with rider autograph sessions? Get people to stay longer and help get some of the bigger names to show up?

Also heard a few people make the comment of snowmobile freestyle outside? I'm sure a huge undertaking and insurance might not even consider it but just relaying what I hear.
