I got a quote for $100 per 48"x38" sheet of alum for my front ramps on my V-nosed drive-off open trailer.

Is that typical?

48"x48" 3003 Aluminum, Decorative "Tread" pattern, .032" thick, $94.12

.063" goes to $210.84, .08" $286.89.

Sheit.

OK.

What thickness should I use on the salt shield at the front of my sled trailer? When I drive off the trailer it doesn't get pressure from teh sleds or ATVs cause it's on the bottom side of the ramp.

That seems a little expensive. Go to a large Napa store and you can get diamond sheet metal for $6 a foot. Comes in 4' wide sheets. Made a rock guard down my tuck out of it and it works and looks great. Would also work great for a salt guard. Not sure what kind of alum. it was, but it was decently thick and pretty strong.

Nappa didn't have any.
I did find .100 thickness at $142.78 total for a 4'x8' sheet in a small local shop.
Just have to cut it myself.

I would use .063 min. Would hold up to the bigger hits from rocks. Just as a spray shield/decorative item use .032.

You can cut alum sheet/plate with a "Skil-saw" and a carbide blade. Wear your PPE- you'll need it.
