Quick Drive Skid Plate

I just finished fabricating this carbon/kevlar skid plate for my RMK Axys Quick drive. Will be drilling and fitting it soon. Has anyone had issues with damage/hitting the pulley? I haven't heard of or had any problems yet, but the QD pulley does seem to hang way down on the Axys.

I buy my materials separately, I order carbon and Kevlar fabric by the roll, and epoxies and other supplies locally. Takes some time to make the mold, then lay the carbon in on that and vacuum bag it.

Looks good. It does take some hits, and chews up the belt when the bottom panel is pushed up into it from ether hard snow, stumps, or even sled dollies. How much to make me one?

You could use a kit, but those come with a thinner fabric, probably 5oz. With a fabric that thin, it might take 10 or more layers to get the strength for a skid plate. Still doable, just may have to buy a few kits. I had to use layers 19oz carbon fabric along with layers of Kevlar to get the thickness and strength I wanted.

prayn4snow, I need to get it fit first and figure in my time and materials to get you a price on one.

I would be interested in one as well.

I hit a rock earlier this year that took out the pulley, belt, and brace that the drive shaft runs through. Hard hit. Not sure if a guard would have saved it but it would have made difference. Should've had a guard from the get go. I installed a van amdurg plate and have hit several solid objects since and no problems. I think it would be a wise piece for any axys owner to install
