Quick drive belts

So I wrecked my 12' Assault Rmk,
Picked up a 13' pro rmk at a good price. That thing def rips, was climbing a hill and it trenched down to a log, thought the track ratcheted but no was the quick drive belt. Looking at posts about the quick drive belt and it looks like the belts used to be crap because I don't see any recent posts about belt failures. Is that the case or are people still blowing belts every 50 miles?

I've waited for someone to bring this up. It sure seems to me that the belt and drive shaft problems were fixed for 14. The clamps on the drive shaft were called a bandaid fix but they seemed to of done the job from the lack of discussion here. The same with the belt.

Our 2014 has about 500 miles and our 2013 has I think around 1600+ miles.
Both belts look like new. No problems. We did just blow a drive belt on the 2013 but the QD belt is as I said, great shape. I have heard that the 2014 belt is better than the 2013. And we did baby our sleds for the first 100 miles. Polaris recommends a break in period of 100 miles for the QD belt and 30 miles for the drive belt. $.02

Yeah I did a google search and everything I found about the quick drive belts is all almost a year old, so that would make sense that the quality of the belts has been much better than when the quick drive 1st came out and as you guys said the collar has helped. Have a big trip planned next weekend and was just curious if the belts are still blowing after a few miles or not.

Good point.

quick drive fire and ice

we sold a lot of pros and the only guy we had blowing quick drive belts was a customer with a boondocker turbo on it. installed a fire and ice tensioner on his and it fixed his issue.

belt

yep we tried the 14 belt on his 13 with the heat shield also. was much better but still wrecked it, he rides hard also lol. we put the fire n ice tensioner on and he was just out in rabbit ears and did not damage the belt. make sure it is not all the way against the belt
We have not seen a stock sled fail one at all.

Really glad I posted that question, feel much more confident about the quick drive belt. Is anyone really just putting along at half throttle for 100 miles to
Break them in?

Biggest thing is to avoid high speed trail runs. Wide open in the deep is fine. Maybe throw in a few cool down time the first ride.

I recently blew my QD belt, however it was the original belt, 1600 miles, and i blew it out in some really deep and really heavy snow. I too thought it was my track ratcheting, but nope...lol. Ended up leaving the sled, driving to a dealer, then heading back up to retrieve the sled, all in one day. I have the upgraded belt on there now, hopefully it last as long as the first one.

Seems like it would but I can hold my hand on my top pulley after beating on it in the deep but a 75mph rip down a trail will just about sizzle snow.
