quick clickers.. are you sure??

Hehehe.... nope , i actually DONT believe the primary spring squeezes anything other than my fingers if i get em caught. I installed my QCs last night and I couldnt help it , i put a lil loctite on the clutch bolt. Having those blue things go flying off in the middle of a ride would suckith. sj

They arent going to fly off????

The steel ones I made did fly off, the aluminum ones I bought didn't but you can improve on this by:

Remove the offset adjuster bolts from the clutch, but push it out with a small srewdriver so the washers don't fall out of place, Now in a lathe or drill press, put the treaded end in the chuck. With the bolt spinning, cut down the underside of the head by 25%. I used a drill press and a file. This allows the bolt to go deeper when reinstalled to give you more threads to work with for your quick clickers. Now make sure you use the Loctite that is recommended and always rotate the quick Clickers clockwise so if they catch, thaey won't be loosened.

I put the Straightline Perfomance quick clickers on and I really hope the nylock nut holds. I debated about putting loctite on them.

Guys, I've run the quickies all last year with no problems at all. They are absolute gold. Nothing like taking about 25s to make a clutch adjustment on the hill. I used a touch of blue loctite on mine. Buy stocks in this item if you can!

I ran them all last year with no problems. Teth air's idea sounds great.
When I instal them I put the bolt up on top like it would when you rotate it. I then tighten the QC on as far as it will go. I then put red loctite on the set screw and screw it in pretty darn tight. (sorry I don't have a torque spec for that.) :p
I wouldn't own a xp without them.

Get the Cudney ones. They make the bolt part (more threads) as well not just the nut

This is the only way I would consider the quick click. Just not enough threads on the std bolt IMHO. I'm not a machinist and wouldn;t trust myself to machining the stock bolt heads, plus that will weaken the bolt head.

How much longer is the Cudney bolt?

I have sold 100's of the original quick clickers and have not had 1 failure. In some cases, the casting of the TRA is wider than others which does not get the normal 5 threads to bite. In those cases, take the clickers bolt and push it 1/2-3/4 the way out of its head seat. Get a wrench and turn it in the head seat to round out a portion of the casting. Push bolt back in and you will gain 3+ threads on the clicker because it does not need to be pushed in as far now.

Another vote for the Cudney Racing ones. I bought a competitors last year and even though I used red (permanent) loctite, one fell off on the Pemberton Ice Cap on my last ride in June. I had to limp it out until I could borrow a stock bolt from another sled. The Cudney design is fool-proof.

I am still concerned that my crankshaft may be out after realizing one of the QC were gone. The vibration was brutal!

I just put some on and am wondering the same thing. I cant remember what ones I got, but they are blue, with the loc tite already in them with small allen wrench set screws. I tried to do everything the directions said, so we shall see. I know I will be stopping every 10 min to make sure one hasn't come off. That's a good tip about only turning them one way, makes sense. Thanks guys, I will see how they hold up.

No problems with my quick clickers. They come with red loctite on the set screw. Trust me...they are worth it. I was able to dial my clutching in just a few minutes this weekend in Revy. 8100 in the steep and deep!! :D
