$499 BCA Float 30
I have thought about getting an ABS, but have not really looked. I checked it out at the Puyallup Snow Show and then had the opportunity to check out the BCA Float 30 pack. I was sold. Easy to refill from just a scuba tank, felt good on my back, roomy for all my stuff, shovel and probe outside pockets that hold them securely, it deployed very nicely, a tad loud, but who cares. Besides, who makes the best beacon. These guys have done a few years of testing to get this right. Bag supports the head and the sides of your chest. The construction of the bag is solid, too. I pre-ordered mine. They are suppose to be here the beginning of December, and guaranteed by the end of December. There are also some pretty great deals out there to buy the Float Pack, Shovel, Probe, and Beacon for like $800 or $900. I have plenty of beacons, shovels, and probes. The probes have only been used for fun; the beacons are used every ride and only on search for fun; the shovels well, they get used to get my purple $$ eater unstuck, but never me.
I cannot wait to get the pack. I think I am going to get a scuba tank too because I can see myself refilling this regularly to start with as I show it off to everyone. I will need a supply of little o-rings too. That is it for the refill. It is so easy.
You should definitely take a serious look at BCA Float 30.
