Questions ABS Packs

Today I bought an escape 15 ABS pack. My question how/where do you strap a shovel and probes to it. Anyone with pics would be great. Thanks!

Here's mine on a 30L.

looks kinda janky, like the shovel and probe would slip out on a rough trail or in a crash.

You have obviously not seen any of our videos, 'cause I know how crash! Trust me the shovel doesn't budge. My probe and probe bag have a loop that I run through the top strap to ensure that it doesn't come off.

bwahahaha, you and me both, I put my shovel blade in the same way as skibreeze does and haven't had any problems, I put the handle inside the pack and my probes go inside the shovel handle. never had a problem yet.

I was thinking of selling my escape 30 and buying a 15 but if you cant get a shovel and probes in,, I think Ill keep my 30 ,,who sells snowpulde???

I put my gear inside the 15, I use the largest grain scoop I can find & it fits tight to the back, I might try the way skibreeze has his strapped on, but as stupid as he might-is, I'z even stoopider. I think I'll give it a try though, it would be nice to get the extra space.

Snow Big Deal sells the Snowpulse and the ABS and after getting to look at one in person at the snowshow this past weekend I kinda wish I had went that route. The pack itself is a much nicer design for the snowmobiler. However I do like the ABS with the dual bags too. If you look into the Snowpulse I recommend the Himark version, little more storage and a nicer setup for your shovel.

I also really like the design of the Snowpulse's trigger system, nice and simple.

I carry a Black Diamond shovel inside my ABS 15(fits nice) and also carry a shovel on the sled itself. This way you don't have to take your pack off and loose your protection in case of a slide while digging out and you'll always have a shovel with you, even if separated from your sled. If you do mount a shovel on the outside, ensure that it won't contact the bags when they deploy. jmho :beer;
