Questions about hillclimb setup

Just looking to get some input from you guys...I am setting up my improved stock sled for a hillclimb next weekend and I will be running a 2" paddle track. I have been told by several people that I should turn the track around and run it backwards for better acceleration. Has anyone tried this? I'm sure someone could give me better insight.
thanks for the help

Where are you running at next week? If it is at Jackson I would suggest getting a track that you can put screws in, and possibly think about traction cleats. I don't know of any other climb than that one going on, but I'll check back sometime tomorrow. PM me if you have any more questions.

might check the rules on reversing tracks. If you are at Jackson and racing in the non-pro classes, in the non-pro masters it is brung what you run, in the amateur I think this year it has to stay stock, but check with the Snow Devils

the hillclimb that I am going to is in Swain, NY it's just a small race, 1000ft drag up a ski slope...no big deal....didn't think any of you would want to travel that for seeing how you're mostly from the midwest. I was just looking for a little technical advice I wasn't being sly about anything. Thanks for the input greatly appreciated.

I put screws in, leave track in normal direction, tighten it to limit ratcheting, tighten straps so you don't flip over, clean and sand clutches with emery cloth or something and there you go. I also pulled my sway bar out. Just my set up but everyone seams to do different stuff.

Emery cloth!!! OUCH.......

gear it down if you can to a 2.05-2.15ish ratio, throw the biggest helix you have in it, jet it down at least 2 sizes from where you are now, maybe drop the needle if its' gonna be warm, keep the fuel to 3 gallons or less, remove any and all weight possible, turning the track around is a double edge sword, better off the line but kills you on the big end.

Here in MN our hilldrags are 500' so our set up will vary.
