Question on Silber on Dragon

Ok..here at Togwotee to do my first tune on my silber turbo dragon. Couple of questions. At idle...my a/f gauge stays at 10.0...is that ok?Idles good. Also..my attitude controller fires up just like instructions say...then when idling...the green light will flash like every 10 sec. No other lights. I double checked install and all looked good. Is this how the controller should work? Thanks for help in advance. I am running 110 in it for now.

Sounds like u got the box right. I don't think the a/f gives a proper reading idle. Mine has show it to be lean at idle, chked the the plugs an it is obvious that it is running rich.

Great! Well I will heading out shortly for first round. I will post an update later on how it went. Thanks for the reply!!

Sounds rich to me check your fuel pressure. My M8T runs 14.5 idle up to half or 3/4 throttle then you want it 12.2 at WFO. This is a different setup but check your plugs to confirm your guages are right!

thats way rich check plugs at idle.

how does the sled run overall/? if its actually that rich it should run like garbage off idle. thats way fat.

Mine runs from 16 to 17 and sometimes it will drop down to 14.7. I can raise my fuel pressure up to 45 and it doesn't make any difference.

OK...well here is how the day was. Not perfect!! I might have come to the conclusion that the a/f gauge is not working right. When I first start it, it goes to like 14.7....then after runs a few seconds it goes all the way down to 10. Now the riding. Seems to be great off of idle. Actually that is what it does the best. half to full throttle it starts to cut out and run like crap...seems that I could only get about 3lbs boost. Also...a/f gauge does not come off of 10 no matter what i did. So...came back to lodge...rechecked the fuel controller settings, took out the low altitude spring in the wast gate and put back in the higher one. Took it out...seems to run a little better...a/f gauge still does not work seems like...boost goes up a little more...but never more than like 6. So..I am double checking that I have the boost control in the right direction and reading what I can find on the net. The plug seem to look good. They are not black like I expected to find them. They where a nice light brown...which seems to be right on. So...any ideas???? I did double check all fitting that they were tight and nothing missing. All looked good. Thanks for all the replys and all the help.

I have found it to be way easier to tune with Koso egt. It is really nice not to be depend on one gauge. It does sound like u might have a bad sensor. But really don't take my advice to heart, I am just going by the things that I have learned and by no means any kinda of expert, kinda wrkin on being novice. Gd luck though :-)

I am with you....I think I have a bad sensor. Yeah....I am thinking of upgrading to some koso stuff. I did talk to Justin. I put a new set of plugs in and gapped the down to .015. I will give that a try in the morning. I also confirmed that I had the boost control in the right way. So....I will post tomorrow and see how it goes....I got to be close!!!

OK...I sent my fuel controller in for update. So I am waiting for it to come back.
I am getting a new o2 sensor...see if I can get my a/f gauge to work. I pulled turbo and am now checking all connections. Checked compression. Is 120 good on both cylinders? This does have a newly installed PMS kit in it. Also I am still running pink springs in my exhaust valves. Should that make any difference? Anyone have any more suggestions? I basically pin the throttle...and it acts like it hits a rev limiter cuts out, and then comes back. I get to about 7k rmp...then cutout...and then starts back up. I see the boost gauge go to 10lbs...cuts out drops to 5lbs...then starts back up....ect....Looking for help!!!......or I might start parting it out and buy a pro!

Thanks!

The box is not wired right. Once the boost kicks in you should see some blue and green lights. When the WOT fuel kicks in they should change to red.

Who did your wiring? Are you sure it was done properly?

Also, I would check and make sure you airbox is properly mounted on your throttle body. It is a bit hard to squeeze into place so that could be one of the issue but I doubt it.

The exhaust springs should not affect the performance. Always had the stock ones and they worked fine.

Im by no means an expert but I would look at my attitude box and make sure you don't have a leak in your pressurized system. After that clutching but if you are running silbers kit that shouldn't be the issue.

I wired the box in. I have doubled checked it several times...and all looked correct according to install instructions. When I talked to Derek @ attitude...that is when he said they had some issues with that boost hose cracking. I hope to have my controller back Tuesday. Once again..I will go over all wiring. I will then get it all put back together and try it. I was pretty sure my air box was good...but I was not over confident in the rubber boots that I had to glue into the air box. So I am redoing all of that...redoing/checking all connections in pressurized system. I was going to update the airbox but silber did not have any. I might try to make my own or see if anyone out there has one for it.

So with a little luck that will cure it. I will know hopefully by mid week.

Thanks for you help!! I will take what ever I can get as this is my first turbo. pretty good with mechanics...just got to figure this out.

Thanks!

Dereck is not wrong the little tube they use for the air pressure has a tendancy to freeze and break! Be very careful with the routing of it so tha tit doesn't rub against something...

For the wiring, how many wires did you spliced into (the ones for the injectors)? 2 or 4 ?

Another think to keep at the back of your mind is the voltage regulator is known to sometimes be deficient on those sleds. If you plugged your box like stated in the instructions, there is a possibility that under bigger pulls your box is just not receiving enough electricity, Justin told me about this one and I by-passed it just to be sure and never had an issue.

Just giving you different thoughts here lol hoping to get you back on the snow asap!

btw you numbers are way off as you probably already know lol. 14.5 at idle is where it should be at. You set it with the fuel pressure regulator and hopefully you do not have to bring the pressure below 38 to achieve that. I would also wait for the sled to warm-up before adjusting idle as I found it affected the reading just a little bit...while cruising in the trail I believe the numbers were around 15 or 17? and at WOT 12.5 but I could be wrong on this one but it's in the instruction manuals.

I spliced 4 wires for the injector. Yes.I have wondered about the vr. Where did you splice your power into?

Yes...i am hoping that the new 02 sensor will take care of my reading. Then I will have a better idea as too what i have for a/f.

I am going to put the throttle bodies back on today and get the air box redone. I hope to have fuel controller back in a couple of days. Does it matter which flash I have in the ecu? The flash is from Dec. 09'

Thanks!

Ok 4 wires is good lol ;)

For the power I spliced right next to the vr or before it I can't remember. Silber could tell you more Im sure.

The flash I dunno...good luck
