question on mixing 92 and 110

dont think im going to do it but wanting to know if it would be ok if i mixed 92 oct and 110 oct when i go out west in march. taking my 08 xfire 800 snopro. if i did do it it would be the first tank of the day mix it when we get back at night and have it run it through right away in the morning and then if and when i have to fill back up put 91 oct back in it. would the motor handle it or would it melt the thing down?

thanks

do you have mods that require 110 or just 91, as you go up in elavation the compression will go down and your octane requirement will go down, if you dont have mods that require 91 at alitude you are just throwing money away, just saying........:beer;

^^ What he said. If you don't NEED it don't run it. Waste of money and could hurt your performance, IE not as much power.

thats what i wanted to know. would it be better to run 91 or the 85.5 in my xfire. will have a mbrp can on it. seemed last year in my dads 06 xfire 700 that 91 was better than 85.5.

thanks

if its a stock sled you run 89. less than 89 is bad for the motor. more than 89 is just a waste of money.

Its right there in the manual, stock sled is tuned to run on 87, anything more will hurt performance and $$$

what about octane booster. was at fleet farm today and seen that there was 3 diff that they had. they had 104, NOS max street, and turbo 108 extreme. what do you think would be the best?

1st hand I could feel a gain in power when I ran 91 octain in my M1000. I had put 100LL Av gas in my sled for the 1st ride out then the next trip out I put 91 octain in the sled and the sled ran better. I could feel it and I could see a RPM gain. I would try a 85 octain but I have a Y-pipe,can and air intake on the sled and I dont feel like finding out if 85 is too low. the sled runs good as it sits. PULL and GO!

bolt on parts still = stock as far as fuel is concerned. Its when you change the engine internally, mill heads (up compression), change head gaskets (up compression), change cylinder head (possibly more compression) that you really change from stock to mod...
