Question on 2007 Summit 600

I have a 2007 Summit 600 SDI. When I let off the throttle after accelerating or cruising along, the RPMs remain at about 5000 or so and it feels like the sled is engine braking. It slows it right down whether I'm going downhill or on flat or wherever. Once the sled slows down, the RPMs go right down to 1200 or so and idle.
Is this common? Just something to get used to? I'm used to sleds coasting when you let off the throttle and the RPMs dropping quickly..... Any thoughts?

I think this is common with the way Doo does their secondary clutching. My 02 800 does the same thing. In some ways I kind of like it, coming down hills etc.
