Question of dynamo clutch install of 06 roller secondary

Removed the stock helix and installing the S8R helix. The stock one has a spacer that hold the 2 half keys onto the spline and the S8R does not have the spacer. Instructions say nothing about this and DJ is out until tomorrow. I can't see the keys staying in place without something to hold them in other than pressure. Do I remove the spacer out of the sock helix. It is pressed in and doesn't look like it will fit the same in the new one. Any ideas?

So I removed the spacer plate from the stock helix and tried to install on the new one. It won't work because it is to thick and forces the helix to be compressed too far to get the keys in. Any guidance?

I just intalled the same helix on my 06 X on saturday. My stock clutch did not have the spacer you are talking about. The new helix went in just like my old one came out. I can take a picture and post it in a couple of hours. My buddy did his clutch also and it has the washer you are talking about, but his was not a rollor secondary and it required a different helix.

A picture would be helpful. On your new helix, did it have a grooved spot for the half keys to lock into after they slid into the spline?

You will need to order the cup shaped washer/spacer and half keys from an older ZX secondary, I ran into the same problem on my 06, still waiting to receive the parts in the mail.
