Question for the North Shore Guys.

Folks;
Going to be making my annual trip to visit family in Tofte and Schroeder over the last weekend of February. I usually trailer my sled, but I'm wondering if it's even worth it this year. Obviously we could get a dumping before then, but as it stands, is there enough snow for a halfway decent ride? We usually ride the forest service roads or the power lines and stay off the main trails whenever possible.
Thanks, Mark.

I'd like to know where there be some snow up that way.

Lutsen is claiming 18-36", but ya gotta figure most of that is from a gun.

Thanks, Matt, good to know. As I said, we usually ride in areas which don't see much other traffic, but even those aren't any good if there is no snow on the ground.

Logging roads but not the power line.

I havn't gone towards the tunnel , but about twenty mile west of there it's bad.

The trails are fine if you get away from the lake. Hard to take off from the Shore. You'll have to trailer inland or it's pretty thin. 10 miles up Hwy 1, Sawbill, Caribou or Gunflint and it's winter.

Timberdoodle, the cousin I stay with lives a couple miles up the Cramer Road, so we usually start from there.

This winter sucks big time.

Bring your sleds, from Isabella to Grand Portage its decent to good riding. If you know the forest roads and back trails, its pretty damn good, considering what it looks like along the shore! Beats sitting around looking out the window of the cabin!
