Question for Eco Boost owners

If mine has been sitting for several days, it rattles noticeably when first started, only for a couple seconds at most.

Doesn't do it if it has been shut off less than 24 hours.

My un-educated assumption is that extended periods of non use permits any lubrication to settle out of engine.

Anyone else getting this?

Oil is leaking out of the hydraulic lifters, resulting in excessive valve lash until oil pressure comes up. There is really no risk of damage, it's just a nuisance because of noise. A slightly heavier oil may remedy the situation, but it's really not anything to worry about.

after market oil filter? or factory? some have a check valve to keep pressure.

I haven't changed the original oil & filter yet, it only has 59,000 miles.
As far as heavier oil......this seems thicker than I would expect would be needed.

Holy Crap!!

What is the life expectancy on that oil? I usually change mine in my 5.0 at about 7,500-8,500. Look at all the money I'm wasting.
