Quad question

Please don't shoot me if I am in the wrong section. I have a 1990 suzuki LT 500 R quadzilla. I have replaced the stator, carb has been cleaned, I have spark, it is getting fuel because the plug is wet. Trying to kick start this beast is quickly tiring. I have tried pull starting it to only get a couple of backfires. As far as I can tell I have spark and fuel. I have tinkered with 2 strokes for 35 plus years and this one has me stumped. Thanks for any help .

If the plug is wet it's getting too much fuel or not enough air. Not sure a sled forum is the best place for quad advice.

too much fuel most likely

pull start and kick it a lot with plug out. does any fuel spray out cylinder? if so fuel might also be in cylinder flooded and also muffler. once you get no spray out use a new plug and if spark it should at least back fire and hopefully run.:mad2:

Last 2 stroke I messed with that had sat awhile, ended up having a bad plug.

Screwed and screwed with the thing, finally said hell with it,and put in a new plug. Thing fired right up.
