Q's about my REV

I have a few mod questions about my sled. 2004 REV 800 Summit HMX 159"

1. I bought the sled with the ugly plastic thing on the back taken off and removed already. I like the style of the 2007 tail light. Is there any way the 2007 tail light will fit on my 2004?

2. I'd like a big wheel kit and would like to have the wheels put inside the rails. Is there a kit I can buy to do this?

3. My clutching is on the fritz and I've been emailing Joe from www.ibackshift.com and I've heard he's the way to go for clutching. Is this true?

4. When I bought the sled the stickers had been already removed and it's all black. I actually like it this way a lot more but I can see the outlines of where the original stickers were. Is there any way to get that to go away? Any cleaners or something?

I know some of you are wondering why I want to put money into my sled when new ones are coming out but for one I love the REV body style and I think it's somewhat stouter than than the newer sleds, I'm in the military and I wouldn't ride it all that often and well I can't really afford a new one anyway.

If you guys could help me out with some of my issues that would be great! Thank you!

Also forgot to mention I'm in the market for a new track. I was thinking about the Polaris Series IV 159" x 2.125" and buy it off of http://www.tracksusa.com/polaris.html. This would work for my sled right? I heard it was an awesome track. If I was gonna buy it which part number would I need? 9978 or 9023?

Sorry for the questions.

Thanks

1) yes lot's of people do this. It actually started in 06.
2) Yes pretty much all the big aftermarket companies make them
3) Joe is great but Roosterbuilt is a lot closer to you in WA
4) Goo Gone
5) I like the CE 16" wide. I would either do the 2.5 with a driver change or if you want to keep it simple the 9941 should bolt in.

Thanks for the info.

I'm not to sure about the track at this point. I know the both the series IV and the 9941 will bolt but there's a pretty steep price difference. Isn't having a cupped track more of an advantage?

Hello sound like your sled is getting the same theme as mine, I made my own inner 2 whl axle kit and run 2 stock inner wheels and removed all the forward ones and installed Ice scratcher they really do work, I got rid of where you could see the old decal lines by venting my side panels, and have went all black with a BR tech light weigh hood and black 06 summit X seat and black simmons skis, also removed the rear rack and light panel, and I don`t run a tail light alot cleaner look to me along with no headlight either, goin with a lead dog helmet light and us it when I need it, also narrowed my stock control arms up to 36inch stance and newer freeride drop center handle bars with fly 7 inch riser, anyway excellent chassis. Snow Eliminators are a Must on this chassis especially on the 04 the snow pack on the boards bad really sucks, eliminators are a HUGE difference.

I also have a polaris series 4 159x15x2.125 track and I Love it, its lighter than most 151 and bigger tracks and takes me anywhere I want to go and they are pretty easy to find.

Steering post forward mod is a good one to really easy to do..

Oh Clutching, I would get ahold of Dynoma Joe, I won`t put any other clutch kit in any sled.

Rev Chassis`s Rock............

Good Luck, Wildcard

Is there a big difference when you remove the front idler wheels? I don't really see why they are there to begin with.

Hello , They are there to reduce hifax wear in lower snow conditions and reduces rolling resistance for the track since most of the track is not really touching the hyfaxs as much but being assisted by the wheels, if you ride in descent loose or powder snow you really don`t need them, We have some heavy snow around here and ice type snow in the spring I have been running with no ice scratcher and no front wheels for 2 years but at the end of this year we went out on a ride and it was like snocone snow and warm out and we were melting my first set of hyfaxs, had to stop a few times and kick some snow on the hyfaxs a few times before we got to the softer stuff and next ride out we installed icescratcher, man those babies throw the snow and icy chunks and no probs after that and now the engine runs cooler for the all that is sprayed on the coolers now.

Also for me it cleans up the look of the rear skid takes the clutter out and does shave weight, free mod other than the scratchers.

Sorry to bring this thread back up but I'm having a bitch of a time figuring out how the 06-07 tail light mounts up on the 04-05. Can someone show me a picture of how they did it?
