QD belt stowage

Does anyone know how a QD belt needs to be stowed? I read the manual and it speaks f no bending, kinking, or twisting. Also keep away from solvents. I have a bag on the back I can run it aroun the perimeter of the inside, but it will get wet in there. Anyone know if water will hurt it? N the sled they get wet a little during use, but am looking for thoughts??? Thanks

The box specifically says not to open until you are ready to install the belt but that just doesn't work around here. We used a large Heavy Duty ziplock and carry the belt in a back pack. I think the storage bag at the back of the seat would be acceptable too. I wouldn't be too concerned with the belt getting wet but I would keep it away from any other kinds of liquids or anything else that could bang against it.

A large zip lock holds the belt and new bolts that come with the belt.

I would put the belt in a ziplock/rubbermaid/foodsaver type storage container to protect the belt from damage and moisture and keep in pack or tunnel bag. Done:face-icon-small-win

Storage of Q-drive belt

I just got back from 5 day ride in BC deep snow. Stored my new belt in new burandt bag, very awesome bag to keep things dry. Broke my belt in and had no issues, have 400 miles on sled now.

Sounds good. I dont really want to go and shell out 180 bucks on a spare belt, but if one breaks on the mountain i really dont want to have to tow it out or go back up with a new belt. Thanks for your help!

I also use the burandt bag for belt storage. This is a perfect fit for the belt in the original box. I will never ride without a spare belt.
I was 30 miles deep in whistler backcountry and had to ride out double with a buddy and leave my new sled on the mountain in the open. Drive to Vancouver (luckily the dealer had a belt in stock) then go back the next day and fix it.

Here's where I put mine.
I wrapped belt in a soft cloth and duct taped it to hold it oval. I then wrapped in a couple of large ziplocks and taped it up a littlle more for protection where it will contact sled.
I also taped a couple pieces of canopy foam tape onto sled where the belt might rub. Tucks in there like it was made to fit! Drill a couple lil holes for zip straps and done.
