Q-Drive Belt Backwards

So I took my sled in to get my new quick drive belt out on. Brought the sled home and pooped the side panel to take a look and they have out it in backwards. What I mean is the directional arrow on the belt is facing the wrong direction for forward rotation.

Is this a problem? Can I ride? Should I change it?

Sure don’t want to toast a $300 quick drive belt or have to change to my spare in the field.

Well that is not good..........would definitely correct it before riding, it is directional for a reason.

Not hard to change, should only take you a few minutes.

Had to go to a different dealer. $170 later it’s on right. Ugh. At least I can ride tomorrow.
That's what they charged you?
I assume you carry a spare when your on the mtn right?
Have you tried changing it your self? Good practice.

Its super easy to change out a belt, ive done it a few times now. i beleive there are a couple of youtube videos on it if you want some pointers

Use a zip tie between the gears when installing. Piece of cake.

Has anyone tried to do this change on a Matryx with e-start? Not an easy task.
1. Remove battery
2. Remove batter holder bracket
3. Remove bracket that battery holder bracket attached to
4. Bitch and complain about all the **** you had to remove and the lack of space to work in.
5. Bandage the cuts and scrapes on your hands and swear you will wear gloves next time
5. Remove quick drive sprocket (pulley/gear) bolts
6. Wish like hell you never started this freakin task cause everything is so dam tight nothing will move.
7. Have a quick vision of how you will never get anything back together if you actually succeed at getting the belt off
8. Put it all back together, load in truck and take it to the dealer.
9. Have dealer change belt
10. Check dealer did not put belt on backwards before you leave.
11. Pat yourself on the back for a job well done and enjoy a beer!

Now that’s how a quick drive belt is changed!

Could you imagine having to do this on the hill or in your trailer back at the lodge while you spill gas all over in your trailer? They make it look so easy, of course the tech is muted and video edited for our safety.

Even less room on a boost.

But now with lightweight battery.

Easy peasy

You forgot the most important step. Order the tki kit and install. This way you can back the tension off with a simple wrench and change the belt that costs less than $100.
That's if you ever need to, only broken one I've seen was blown up with a turbo screaming at 8400rpm when the track stabbed and the belt was the fuse.

Funny how a chaincase never had problems.
Oh I remember having chain case problems on several of my sleds between 95-2005 and constantly monitoring tension and lube levels on them. Chain goes out more than one occasion it damages gears and the cover. Unless you had chain, both gears and cover and lube as a spare back in the trailer you trip was as good as done. As sarcastic as I was in my previous post, I'd rather have a fighting chance of saving my riding weekend by doing a repair on the hill or back at the trailer.

How many belts are you guys shredding?

Why a new QD belt already?

I'd be curious to find an alternative to Polaris's $239 price tag on the belt. I'm not finding any cost savings ones from Aftermarket.
