Hello,
I have a couple of questions. I am posting here because it seems that you guys frequent the Gov't Meadow area the most so I should get the latest and greatest information.
My team and I (NG SAR) were planning on doing some ski/snowshoe/akhio training at Government Meadows. The original plan was to drive to the end of FS 70 and ski in the approx. 1km to the cabin/Gov't Meadows. Now that the road is closed at Pyramid I have a couple of questions.
1. What are the snow conditions like past the gate? How long will we be walking vs. when would we be able to ski?
2. What is the approx. distance from the gate to the cabin? I am trying to plan how long our movement will take us. I am seeing it at approx. 11km. Also what is the slope of the road?
Unfortunately we do not have access to snowmobiles on short notice and its a huge amount of paperwork (and not enough time) to get helicopter access directly to Gov't Meadow. This is my first time planning in this area and was unaware about the possibility of the gate being locked. Live and learn.
Thanks for the information.
