putting engine back in the sled

i got an 05 900 Can anyone give me step by step on putting the motor back in.

i wanna make sure i dont miss anything. when and how do i get all the air out of the oil lines do i need to pressurize the fuel line and when? get air out of coolant how? thanks

sounds like you could use a shop manual for your sled!
I have digital copies of both the 2005 and 2006 manuals, I will get them available for download this evening. Almost everything you need to know is in the manual, we can fill in the rest for you.

1. ensure bottom 2 allen bolts of recoil are removed
2. Adjust oil pump cable
3. Place engine more or less in chassis
4. connect rear coolant hose (either back of engine or bottom of coolant: depends on how you took it out)
5. may be a good time to connect the oil line going between the cylinders; depends on where/how you disconnected it
6. run stator wires out to front of gas tank
7. make electrical connections for fuel injectors and DET sensor
8. ensure lower oil feed is run to filter
9. install throttle cable (if removed from throttle body; otherwise skip)
10. install bolts for front motor mounts
11. ensure SLP torque arm (if installed) is correctly oriented
12. put bolt through torque arm and connect nut but leave loose
13. install rear mount bolts
14. you can get fancy torquing engine mount bolts (see other threads) or just torque to spec.
15. connect the rest of the coolant lines

The rest is more or less intuitive; however, note the following:
1. bleed oil before installing the air boost box by loosening the oil bleed screw for approx 30 seconds with a full oil tank.
2. connect stator connections prior to installing the gas tank
3. torque PTO side engine mounts prior to installing clutches. Can be done after but it is much easier if you torque it without the clutches installed.
4. torque MAG side engine mounts prior to installing muffler
5. install frame stiffener prior to installing muffler

Put antifreeze in anytime after hose connection and starting the engine. After you run it top it up. Elevate the front of the sled in order to burp (get all the air out) the system.

I believe this is more or less how I do it and incorporates some of the lessons I've learned. Other installation orders will work and others may make it easier and/or address lessons that I haven't learned yet.

Good luck
