Putting an 09 xp skid in an 01 skidoo?????

This is my Nephew's sled. I think it has a 144, and we are installing a polaris 166x1.4x15 track. I have a 162 skid out of an 09 xp that we are installing. I have a few questions,

1. What kind of modifications will I have to do to the skid since it came out of a 16" tunnel? Will It even fit?

2. What kind of measurements will I need to mount it? Can I measure from the drivers, and get measurements from my sled, (09 xp)?

3. Since we are using a 166" track on a 162 skid, will I need extensions, or can I make up the distance in my mounting locations?

The sled has 9t drivers now, but will probably need to go to 8t, and I am sure I will have to build new drop brackets.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

The tunnel's are the same width, Suspension will fit.
Found out that the drivers are located in both sleds, in the same location, 6 1/2" from top of tunnel. I can use the same measurements out of the xp to install the xp suspension in the 01 chassis.

Wondering about moving the suspension back 1 1/2 or 2" back to take up slack in the track.

Anybody have any experience with this?

You should let us know how that turns out, and post a pic or 2. Interested to see what that will look like.

It might take a week or two to get pics, we are also building some air frame running boards for it as well. Just trying to decide what drivers to use. The 06 skidoo 440 mxz 8t drivers will work, just not sure if I can use two drivers compared to the 4 that are in the 01.

You can definatly use the 06 440x extro drivers instead of the 4 that are in your sled. Just make sure to mark center of your driveshaft in between the center two drivers before you press them off.
